Our environment is extremely threatened, and this threat is rising daily due the ever-increasing use of natural resources being depleted and exploited. The constant damage being done to the environment causes for concern & we at OK Sugar Stores would like to help our community keep their environment clean and make it more sustainable to ensure we prolong the future for our children. OK Carrier Shopping bag
The reduction of plastic is very important to The OK Sugar Stores family. The new environmentally friendly shopping / carrier bag is now available in-store & available to all customers. The bags are 100% recycled, 100% recyclable & 100% local.Recycling of plastic has contributed to some of the following statistics:
- 46.3% of plastics waste was collected for recycling, making South Africa one of the best mechanical recyclers in the world
- The plastics recycling industry provided direct employment to more than 7 800 people and created a further 58 500 income-generating jobs.
- R2.3 billion was injected into the informal sector through the purchasing of recyclable plastics waste

Build a brick project with Relela Primary School
Relela Primary School in Tzaneen has learned how to build eco-friendly bricks with the help of Gateway Health Institute, OK SugarStores helped support this day.
Feeding 70 Families
OK Sugar Stores alongside SAVF Tzaneen fed 70 families in need for Christmas. With the helping hand of our community we were able to feed all 70 families on-time for Christmas.
